Class Description

When: This class runs Thursdays from 10-11am at Champlain Community Centre in St. Boniface. This early spring session has 7 classes starting on March 7th and ending on April 25th. Please note: there is no class on March 28th as it is Spring Break. What: Do you want to have fun while working out with your baby and/or young child(ren)? Each Stroller Yoga Fitness class provides the strength, flexibility, and relaxation benefits of yoga with the cardio-vascular benefits of fitness intervals! Cardio intervals with be low-impact with options given for intensity. Options will be given to move with strollers for the cardio portion of the class - perfect for those babies that love to move. These classes will also include postnatal specific core and pelvic floor work. Classes also include a few movement-based songs for the babies and an opportunity to connect with other parents! Who: This is an all-levels class and is perfect for moms returning to fitness after baby, and for anyone looking to workout with a baby or young child(ren) in tow! Women should be at least 4 weeks postpartum (or 6 weeks for c-sections). Dads and other caregivers are welcome to attend! Babies and children of all ages are welcome in this class. This class will be taught by Steph. Instructors are certified group fitness instructors through the Manitoba Fitness Council with pre/postnatal specialization. Where: This class meets in the gym at Champlain Community Center, 282 Niverville Ave, in St. Boniface, Winnipeg. What to bring: Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, and a water bottle. Resistance bands will be provided when needed. Participants should dress in comfortable workout clothes and athletic shoes. The yoga portion of the class will be done barefoot but shoes are required for the cardio drills. Payment: This 7 week session costs $99.23 (including tax). Drop-in classes are $16.50.
